Gift Assessment and Fees Operations
Overview
The Viola Vestal Coulter Foundation (Foundation) is a non-profit organization conceived with the purpose stated in Article 3, Section 4 of the original Articles of Incorporation in the State of Colorado, providing “…scholarships and foundations and assistance for public schools and colleges in the State of Washington and in the State of Colorado, or elsewhere, not operated for profit, or for any of the students thereof.”
The Foundation is perpetual and accordingly desires to adopt policies that minimize fees and maximize the amount available to students.
The Foundation grants are, typically, repeat grants and the continued annual administration of annual fees results in a substantial long term diminution in the aggregate amounts going to students.
Accordingly, the Foundation hereby adopts the following policy:
Commencing calendar year 2020, grants from the Foundation shall not be made in circumstances where the school or college assesses management or similar fees on the grant amount (other than wire transfer or similar nominal fees that are not in the nature of a management fee).
The Grade Point Average (GPA) of students awarded scholarships must be 3.0 cumulative or greater.
